The new Super Nova Series is here — and for this test, we teamed up with our longtime partner and professional motorcycle mechanic, Living off the slab, for an in-depth, real-world evaluation.
Over the years, we've worked together on a number of successful motorcycle lighting projects, including the popular D03, D09 Pro, and D07 Pro series. Those builds have helped countless riders discover better lighting solutions, whether they're seasoned ADV veterans or just getting started with motorcycle upgrades.
This time, we took the Nova Series a step further.
From design and hardware upgrades to beam performance, lighting patterns, controls, and a direct comparison with the DDF Pro Series, we put Nova through multiple stages of testing to show why it makes sense for today's Dual-Sport rider.
Built for the Way You Actually Ride
One of the first upgrades you'll notice is the new adjustable universal mounting bracket.
With 360° adjustability, the bracket gives riders much more freedom when positioning the lights. Whether you're setting up a Dual-Sport, ADV, or another off-road platform, you can fine-tune the direction of the beam to match your riding position and terrain.
It's a practical upgrade designed around real-world installation — and one we plan to make a standard feature across future motorcycle lighting products.
Smarter Beam Control. Safer Night Riding.
Inside the housing, Nova features a dual-lens optical design with an integrated electronic Z-shaped cutoff shield.
That detail matters when your ride takes you beyond the trail.
Whether you're commuting through town, riding back roads, or heading out for a long-distance adventure, the cutoff helps keep the beam controlled and reduces unnecessary glare for oncoming traffic.
The beam pattern is also designed according to the road side you're riding on — left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive markets receive the appropriate low-beam orientation.
It's not simply about making more light.
It's about putting the light where you actually need it.
Controls Designed for Long-Distance Riders
Nova also gets a redesigned control setup, including an independent DRL switch, separate from the high/low beam and flash controls.
The dedicated DRL button uses a clear sun icon, making it easy to identify the current lighting function at a glance.
For riders spending hours on the road or switching constantly between pavement, gravel, and trails, that's a small detail that makes a real difference.
Less button cycling. Less guesswork. More focus on the ride.
Dual-Color Low Beam for Changing Conditions
Adventure riding rarely means perfect weather.
Nova's dual-color low beam gives riders the flexibility to switch between lighting colors depending on the environment.
Use the clearer beam in normal conditions, or switch to amber when riding through rain, fog, dust, sand, or other low-visibility environments.
If your route takes you through sandy tracks, mountain roads, or forest trails, amber light can provide stronger visual contrast and help you maintain a clearer view of the terrain ahead.
Because when you're miles from the nearest paved road, conditions can change quickly.
One Light Setup. Multiple Riding Environments.
Turn on the combined beam, and Nova is ready to handle a wide range of riding conditions.
From daily commutes to weekend trail rides, mountain routes, gravel roads, and long-distance ADV trips, the combination of beam coverage and controlled low-beam performance means you don't necessarily need to keep adding auxiliary lights to build a complete setup.
One compact system. More capability. Fewer compromises.
Real Garage. Real Roads. Real Testing.
The Nova Series wasn't tested under perfect studio conditions.
It was put through real garage installation and real-world road testing, allowing us to evaluate what actually matters when the bike leaves the workshop.
We also compared Nova directly against the DDF Pro Series.
And while DDF Pro remains an impressive performer, the testing revealed a clear advantage for Nova when it comes to road coverage, low-beam performance, and cutoff control.
The result is a beam pattern that feels more balanced for riders who spend time moving between pavement and off-road terrain.
Built for Riders Who Keep Going
If your idea of riding is simply getting from A to B, almost any light can get the job done.
But if you're the kind of rider who keeps looking at the road beyond the next corner — who enjoys crossing from city streets into gravel, mountains, forests, and open country — your lighting needs to keep up with that mindset.
That's where Nova comes in.
You might be a daily rider.
You might be an ADV traveler.
You might be a weekend trail explorer.
Or maybe you're simply the kind of rider who doesn't like turning around when the road gets rough.
Nova is built to go with you. And click here to purchase one pair.
Go farther. Ride later. Explore deeper.
Wherever the road — or trail — leads, keep moving toward your next destination.
